Anambra Guber: PDP clears Odua, Ubah, four others


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday gave the green-light to six out of the seven aspirants seeking to contest the Anambra governorship election on its platform.

The aspirants are expected to go through the primary poll where only one of them would be eventually elected to fly the flag of the party in the forthcoming election.

The Waziri Maina-led screening committee announced at a press briefing in Abuja, on Friday evening that only Ufodike Akolisa was disqualified for possessing dual citizenship.

Another aspirant, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, was given provisional clearance, pending a waiver by the national leadership of the party.

Aspirants who scaled the hurdle are Ifeanyi Ubah, Stella Odua, Lynda Ikpeazu, Okechukwu Emeka and Alex Obiogbolu

Waziri, who issued certificate of clearance to the aspirants, said Akolisa was disqualified.
