Fayose okays mass promotion for 15,772 workers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday, approved promotion for a total of 15, 772 workers in the local government, the teaching service and the core civil service.

The approval came at a meeting he held with labour union leaders and top civil servants in Ado-Ekiti.

The beneficiaries are those whose promotions were due in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In a statement on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, Governor Fayose directed that the promotion letters should be given to the affected workers without further delay, adding “the cash backing for the promotions would be effective as from March 2017.”

Fayose, while noting that though the state is grappling with economic challenges, he said that should not hinder the recognition of hard work and diligence of those serving the state.

“We won’t deny our workers their dues and entitlements economic recession or no economic recession.
