Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday heard how a lawyer, Barrister Adelowo Oyediran was stabbed to death in Ibadan by his legal wife and lawyer, Barrister Yewande Oyediran in a fit of anger resulting from mere disagreement between the couple.
Akinpelu Adelodun who testified in the murder case on Tuesday was the landlord to the couple.
He told the court that he witnessed the events which led to the ugly incident and the killing.
Adelodun is the prosecution’s star witness in the case.
He mounted the witness box to give a graphic detail of how it all happened Tuesday.
But before he began his testimony, he returned a cheque issued in his name covering his transport to the trial venue.
He was said to have vowed not to appear in the court except his transport fare was given to him.
But he denied ever requesting for transport on Tuesday before he would testify.
Narrating the events which led to the murder, Adelodun told Justice Muktar Abimbola that he was at the apartment of the couple when the argument became ugly and that he made an attempt to calm them down.
He said Yewande insisted that she would injure her husband.
The landlord told the court that the misunderstanding continued till around 3am and that at a point, Yewande became calm.
He said he was, however, surprised to hear a noise around 6am same day.
