There were indications Friday that Aisha, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has been hospitalised over trauma.
She was said to have developed the medical condition after the shocking news of the condition of her son, Yusuf, who was last Tuesday involved in a motorbike accident in Abuja.
Aisha was reportedly in Adamawa when the news was broken to her and was thereafter rushed to Abuja to see him at Cedacrest private hospital, where he is being attended to.
But she was reportedly denied access to the intensive ward by security operatives.
One of the sources said following the denial of access, she became traumatized, and consequently drew conclusion that the action was a move to shield her from knowing the true condition of Yusuf’s health and how bad it was after the accident.
Ever since, Mrs. Buhari was reportedly placed on bed rest at the same private hospital in Abuja.
According to the Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, Yusuf sustained a head injury and broken limbs.
“The President and his wife, Aisha Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son.
“May God reward you all,” the statement added.
Staff of the presidential villa and aides of the President on Thursday offered special prayers for the quick recovery of Yusuf.
President Buhari was also joined by prominent Nigerians at the Aso Villa Mosque Friday where special prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of the young man.
