The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has told a Federal High Court sitting in Enugu that the highest educational qualification obtained by the Vice Chancellor of an “illegal” university in Enugu, Mazi Chris Okoro, was a secondary school certificate.

The commission’s operative, Mr. Chidi Orji, who mounted the witness box to testify at the on-going trial of the proprietor of Richmond Open University Enugu, Mazi Chris Okoro, before Justice A. M. Liman, stated that investigation undertaken by the Commission revealed that Okoro’s qualification was acquired from a commercial secondary school in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

Okoro, according to ICPC, is also the Proprietor, the Registrar and the Academic Director of the institution.

The witness further told the court that Okoro was solely responsible for awarding academic degrees and certificates to unsuspecting members of the public.
