The Court of Appeal in Abuja has okayed the nomination of Asue Ighodalo as governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Edo State.
The intermediate appellate court gave the endorsement after it found that the plaintiffs in the lower court (before Ekwo J) were delegates and not aspirants.
The court consequently added that the delegates being not aspirants had no locus to bring the suit and that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
Specifically, the presiding judge, Justice U.A Musale, in his ruling, held that the February 22 primary election of PDP in Edo State, which produced Dr Asue Ighodalo as Governorship Candidate of PDP was validly and lawfully conducted.
Justice Musale consequently affirmed Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the rightful candidate of PDP in the forthcoming September 21st Guber Election in Edo State.
