NSCDC promotes 544 officers in FCT command

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has promoted 544 officers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.

Speaking at the decoration ceremony of the officers with their new ranks on Friday at the FCT NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja, the Commandant of the FCT Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu said the attainment of the new rank was a call to higher responsibility.

He maintained that the promotion and decorations of officers was in recognition of the performance of the officers during their promotion examination and the need to ensure career progression which according to him will serve as a boost to the officers.

The FCT boss challenged all the promoted officer to ensure professionalism in their line of duty to justify the promotion.

Odumosu disclosed that the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Audi has been magnanimous by promoting 544 officers, adding that to whom much is given, much is expected.

He said: “The mandate of the corps to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure must be taken even more seriously with the added feathers

“You must step up on your commitment to protecting government assets and Infrastructure under my jurisdiction,” he said.

Prominent among the newly promoted officers is the Command Public Relations Officer, Samuel Idoko, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC).

The occasion was graced by dignitaries, which included the representative of Commander Guards Brigades, Nigeria Army, Lt. Col. MA Yusuf, representative of the Commander, Nigeria Air Force, Mogadishu Barracks, Sqd. Ldr A. Bashir, the representative of Director, Department of State Services, FCT Command, Mr. Rasheed Dopemu.

Also in attendance were the Commandant Federal Fire Service, FCT Command, HRH, the Etsu of kwali, Ayode Luka Nizassan III, District Head Mabushi, Garki Chiefdom Hon. Hassan Danagna Mabushi, representative of the kwali Area council Chairman.
