A former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Ikeja branch, Comrade Adesina Ademola Ogunlana Esq is dead.
He was aged 60.
Although information about the cause of his death was sketchy as at the time of filing this report, the fiery activist died Tuesday, 6th of August 2024.
According to a notice published by the Secretary of the NBA Ikeja branch, Dr Isa Adedokun, Ogunlana would be sorely missed.
Ogunlana is the principal of Winners Don’t Quit Chambers, Lagos, Nigeria and Publisher of the pro-integrity legal magazine, ‘The Squib.’
He holds Bachelor degrees in English Studies (University of Ife) and Law (Lagos State University).
He was called to the Nigerian Bar on March 14, 1996. He is the author of the books, ‘Understanding the Secrets of Successful Lawyers’ and ‘Why Lawyers Are Angels…’
He was the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (Ikeja branch) between 2016 and 2018.
In a tribute by Felix Ashimole when Ogunlana Esq, celebrated his 59th birthday on the 27th of July 2023 titled: Adesina Ogunlana, Esq., one of the finest claws of the Tiger Bar, turns 59, he said:
“I have known him by reputation in the long rendition of heroes of the struggle in LASU.
“But during the struggle to reinstate GCE students, I met him and was endeared to his crude, straightforward honesty.
“Although we differ now and then on methodologies, I can stand well well and say, this Great LASUITE, Comrade Barrister Adesina Ogunlana, is consistent, dogged and firm in whatever cause he lays his hand to do.
“His chairmanship of NBA Ikeja, brought a new roar to the Branch and his social interventions in socio-economic environment of Lagos, placed NBA on a high pedestal.
“My Comrade leader of Radical Movement In NBA (RAMINBA), publisher of Squib, troubler of corrupt practitioners in the judiciary, as you celebrate your full circulation around the sun, I, Felix Ashimole, Esq., co-publisher, join millions of your admirers, mentees and colleagues, to pray like Tai Solarin did; MAY YOUR ROAD BE ROUGH.
“Drink those your concoctions and stand strong for the struggle ahead, needs your experience, to get the younger ones fired on to victory!,” he added
