Defamation of Guru Maharaji: Court orders arrest of popular C&S prophet, sureties
An Oyo State Magistrate Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) church prophet, Ojo Amos, popularly known as Elewuogbo for jumping bail.
The trial magistrate, Olaolu Olanipekun also ordered the arrest of his two sureties who failed to ensure his presence in court.
Prophet Elewuogbo is currently standing trial before the court for allegedly defaming the Founder of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaji.
Maharaji had also maintained a separate action against a Lagos-based blogger, Gbenga Dan Asabe.
BAR & BENCH WATCH reports that Elewuogbo and a Lagos-based blogger, Gbenga Dan Asabe, had through media publications accused Maharaj Ji of selling human body parts for money ritual purposes.
The court has however granted the request for the consolidation of the cases against Elewuogbo and Dan Asabe brought by Maharaj Ji’s counsel, Dapo Akinosi.
Akinosi had prayed the court that since the facts of the two cases are related, it would be better if they were merged.
