Osun State High Court sitting in Ilesa has issued an interim injunction stopping the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye, from installing Dr. Olatunde Oginni as the Oba of Oranpon.
The trial high court judge, Justice M. A Lasisi, gave the interim order after hearing out the counsel to the plaintiffs on the exparte application, Omoniyi Adeyemi, brought to that effect.
Also restrained by the trial judge in the case, Justice M. A Lasisi, are the chiefs of Oba Oyeleye and his agents or anybody whatsoever.
The court also stopped Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye (Ogboni of Ipole-ljesa) from installing any other person until the determination of the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs in the suit with number HIL/5/2024 included Oba Adedapo Samson Adewuyi (Likure of Odogbo), Chief Benjamin Arogundade (Odofin of Odogbo), Chief Adegbayibi Adenipekun (Saba of Odogbo) and Chief Adekanmi Adesuji (Sajuku of Odogbo).
They named Dr. Olatunde Oginni who is waiting to be crowned and Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye (Ogboni of Ipole-ljesa) as defendants in the case.
Although an interim order is expected to lapse in 14 days, the enrolled order made available to journalists on Tuesday indicated that the judge fixed May 9 for mention of the case.
