The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
WAEC announced the release in a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday, informing candidates that their results are now available online.
According to the examination body, candidates are required to generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) through the official WAEC portal before checking their results on the WAEC Direct platform.
“The 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates results have been released. Generate your PIN on the WAEC portal and check your results on the WAEC Direct platform,” the council stated.
The announcement comes after weeks of anticipation by candidates, parents and schools across the country.
WAEC advised candidates to follow the prescribed procedure for checking their results to ensure seamless access to their performance in the examination.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is one of the most important secondary school examinations in West Africa.
Conducted annually by the West African Examinations Council, it serves as the principal school-leaving examination for senior secondary school students and is widely used for admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.
Every year, millions of candidates sit for the examination in member countries of the Council.
The release of the results marks a significant milestone for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions, employment opportunities and other educational pursuits requiring proof of secondary school completion.
