Osun 2026: Accord wins 19 LGAs, APC takes 11 as INEC concludes collation

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded the collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, with the Accord Party winning 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas and the All Progressives Congress (APC) taking the remaining 11.

The results were collated at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo, the state capital, from late Saturday until Sunday morning.

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke contested the election on the platform of Accord, while Bola Oyebamiji was the APC candidate.

According to the results supplied, Adeleke won in Boluwaduro, Ede South, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Orolu, Osogbo, Oriade, Odo-Otin, Ife East, Ifelodun, Iwo, Ede North, Ila, Aiyedire, Egbedore, Ayedaade and Ejigbo.

Oyebamiji, however, defeated his opponents in Ilesa East, Boripe, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakunmosa West, Irewole, Atakunmosa East, Isokan, Ola-Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.

The Returning Officer for the election, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, headed the collation team.

The Osun governorship election was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, across the state’s 30 local government areas.

Governor Ademola Adeleke sought re-election on the Accord platform, while Bola Oyebamiji contested for the APC and Najeem Salaam represented the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
