After a 58-minute encounter, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, on Thursday left the Headquarters of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, in Abuja.

That was after he had written his statement.

Ajaero arrived at the IRT headquarters at exactly 10:17 a.m. and left at 11.15 am.

He was briefly interrogated and left with a team of his lawyers that accompanied him to the police office.

He, however, declined to speak with journalists at the IRT headquarters, saying he would only address the media at the NLC headquarters.

Last week, police invited Ajaero to the IRT headquarters on August 20 by 10 am to answer questions on his alleged involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.

But unable to make the appointment, the Labour leader promised to honour the invitation today.

Femi Falana, SAN, Marshal Abubakar, Deji Adeyanju, and some senior officials of the NLC accompanied Ajaero to the IRT headquarters.
