Dangote refinery has reduced the price of petrol from N990 per litre to N970 per litre.
With the reduction, marketers will save about N20 on each litre of petrol.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina.
The reduction, he said, was to appreciate Nigerians for the support in making the refinery possible.
He added that it was also to thank the federal government and support its move towards ensuring that domestic enterprise thrived.
The statement reads in part: “As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true. In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being.”
The spokesman added: “We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply.”
